nose
banana bread and roasted pecan with vanilla and a floral sweetness, giving way to tobacco, charred oak and cinnamon glaze as it sits
palate
thick caramel and dark cherry, then cocoa and cinnamon over a cereal-grain texture, with pepper building
finish
long and warming; candied sugar and buttery notes hold against charred oak and spice, turning slightly bitter as it fades

Why it's craft

Old Ezra is a seven-year-old Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at barrel strength, with no water added to bring it down. The label states it was distilled and aged in Kentucky for Lux Row Distillers, the Bardstown home of the Ezra Brooks brand since 2018, which has belonged to MGP Ingredients since MGP bought Luxco in 2021. Whisky Advocate ranked it seventh in its Top 20 Whiskies of 2019.
