“Seven- and 14-year bourbon split between Ruby and Tawny Port casks and rejoined, with dark berry and chocolate riding on the bourbon.”
Tasting notes
- nose
- blackberry, plum and blood orange with chocolate mousse, spiced apple, a thread of piloncillo brown sugar and charred oak
- palate
- velvety, with black raspberry, raisin and dark cherry over caramelized sugar and candied fruit, then dark chocolate and sweet oak
- finish
- slightly bitter dark chocolate stays alongside blackberry, fig, Concord grape and roasted nuts, then a late touch of clove and drying oak closes it out
Mash bill
- Corn72%
- Rye18%

72% corn, 18% rye, 10% malted barley. The rye share gives the base bourbon spice and structure that keep the port-cask fruit from turning heavy. The grain varieties and where they are grown are not published.
- Cask
- New charred American oak, then Ruby Port and Tawny Port casks
- Finish
- About 12 weeks, split between Ruby Port and Tawny Port casks, then married
Why it's craft
Stephen Beam, a seventh-generation member of a distilling family who founded Limestone Branch in Lebanon, Kentucky, in 2011, assembles a Yellowstone Limited Edition each year and signs and numbers each bottle. For 2026 he finished two halves of a 7- and 14-year-old blend separately in two styles of port cask before marrying them. Limestone Branch is owned by MGP Ingredients through Luxco.
