Augusta Distillery occupies a restored late-1800s factory on the Ohio River in Augusta, Kentucky, historically one of the early stops on the original Bourbon Trail. The company built its reputation on hand-selected, age-stated single barrels bottled at cask strength and unfiltered, including Old Route 8 and Buckner's 10, 13, 15 and 17 year. Master Distiller Alex Castle joined in 2024 to run two 35-foot Vendome copper column stills. The whiskey on shelves is still sourced Kentucky distillate while the house's own spirit ages toward eight years. Buckner's 13 was named World's Best Bourbon at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and remains the signature limited series.
