Clyde May was an Alabama farmer and World War II veteran who ran an illegal still in Conecuh County. He aged some of his whiskey with dried apples, the recipe that became Alabama Style whiskey. After his death the brand passed through several legal owners, and Conecuh Brands built Conecuh Ridge Distillery in Troy, Alabama. Until whiskey made in Troy is mature, Clyde May's Straight Bourbon and Rye are distilled in Indiana to Clyde May recipes and then aged. The brand bills Clyde May's as the Official State Spirit of Alabama.
Owned by Conecuh Brands.
