Owners Ryan and Lesli Winter opened Drift Distillery in San Clemente, California (2017), bringing Hard Red Winter wheat from their parents' farm near Bison, Kansas into a true grain-to-bottle SoCal operation. The tasting room is lined with tin and wood from a century-old barn on that Kansas farm; the campus now pairs small-batch whiskey, vodka, gin, and rum with a KC-style BBQ smokehouse. Folds of Honor Straight Bourbon is a special-edition pour that donates per bottle to scholarships for spouses and children of fallen or disabled military and first responders — same four-grain mash as the house El Camino Real bourbon, packaged for the charity partnership.
