Troy Bolotnick and collaborators founded Filmland Spirits in West Hills, Los Angeles, and launched it in 2022 as a sourced and blended American whiskey house. Each release is treated like a short film, with the full mash bill and age on the label and sci-fi and monster-movie lore on the packaging. The whiskey is selected, aged, blended, finished and bottled in Kentucky rather than distilled in California. Its core lineup has won several gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
