Hood River Distillers was founded in 1934 in Hood River, Oregon, the year after Prohibition ended. It is family-owned, and Russell Dodge is its president. The company produces, bottles and sells a portfolio of spirits brands. It owned the Pendleton Whisky brand, a Canadian whisky, until it sold it to Becle, the parent of Jose Cuervo, in 2018. In April 2026 it bought the Crater Lake Spirits brands, which Bendistillery still makes in Bend.
