James B. Beam Distilling Co. is the Clermont, Kentucky distillery behind Jim Beam and the small-batch bourbons Booker's, Baker's and Knob Creek. The Beam family traces its distilling to 1795, and Jim Beam rebuilt the business at Clermont after Prohibition. Booker Noe, Jim Beam's grandson and longtime master distiller, created Booker's as an uncut, unfiltered barrel-proof bourbon he first gave to friends; his son Fred Noe and grandson Freddie Noe, the seventh and eighth generations, now lead distilling. The company is owned by Suntory Global Spirits.
