Founded in 1816 by John Johnston on Lagavulin Bay near Port Ellen, Lagavulin is among Islay's oldest working distilleries and a cornerstone of Diageo's Classic Malts. Pear-shaped copper stills and heavy peat define a rich, dry, maritime style. The 16 Year Old is the house benchmark and the bottling most peated-Scotch drinkers know it by.

Owned by Diageo.
