Monkey Shoulder is William Grant & Sons' blended-malt brand, launched in 2005 and named for the old malt-floor strain nicknamed 'monkey shoulder.' Historically built from Speyside malts including Glenfiddich, Balvenie, and Kininvie, today's recipe is a closely guarded mix of Speyside single malts matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and married in small batches. The three monkeys on the bottle nod to the malt components and the brand's playful cocktail culture.
Owned by William Grant & Sons.
