Old Grand-Dad was created by Raymond B. Hayden and named for his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr. The brand dates to 1882. James B. Beam Distilling Co., now part of Suntory Global Spirits, acquired it in 1987. Today it is distilled at Beam's Clermont, Kentucky campus on the brand's high-rye mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley. The lineup spans Classic 80, Bottled-in-Bond, 114, single-barrel and age-stated bonded releases.
