Savage & Cooke distills on Mare Island in Vallejo, California, where it mills local grain, ferments and runs a Vendome column still. Its house rye (51% rye, 45% corn, 4% malt) ages at least three years in Seguin Moreau char #3 oak, then finishes in Grenache barrels. Purple Brands, parent of Redwood Empire Whiskey, bought Savage & Cooke from Dave Phinney in a sale announced in December 2024.
