Sugarlands Distilling Company opened in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 2014, naming itself after the historic Sugarlands area of the Great Smoky Mountains. The house mills grain on an artisanal stone mill, ferments with Smoky Mountain water, and runs copper pot stills for Sugarlands Shine — a broad flavored moonshine roster plus whiskey and rum partnerships with Discovery's Moonshiners cast. Flagship dessert expressions include Appalachian Apple Pie (50 proof) and Blueberry Muffin (70 proof).
