Why it's craft
The barrels are made from 300-year-old oak from the Bercé Forest in France, trees harvested to help restore Notre-Dame de Paris after the 2019 fire. Bardstown rested a blend of Kentucky bourbons aged 9 to 18 years in them for 14 months. The bourbons were distilled elsewhere, so the whiskey is sourced. It was the first release in the Distillery Reserve series, sold in 375 ml bottles. Pritzker Private Capital has owned Bardstown Bourbon Co. since 2022.
