“13-month cured-oak BiB — Mash Bill #1 aged 10yr in Warehouse C on extra-seasoned staves”

Tasting notes

nose
tobacco, dried fruit, vanilla, and toffee over seasoned oak — Warehouse C depth from long-cured staves
palate
BiB structure; vanilla-toffee with fig and dry oak tannin from 13-month air-dried white oak
finish
long, dry, layered oak that outlasts the sweetness

Mash bill

Full grain split not published.

Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1 (low-rye) — corn, rye, and malted barley; exact percentages undisclosed. Same grain family as Small Batch and Buffalo Trace Bourbon; differentiation is entirely in the barrel: white-oak staves air-dried 13 months (more than twice the usual ~6-month cure) before coopering, so wood extraction — not mash invention — drives the expression.

Cask
New charred American oak from 13-month air-cured white oak staves
Finish
Extended stave cure (13 months air-dry) before barrel construction — wood-program expression, not a secondary finish
Best served
neat

Why it's craft

Sazerac/Buffalo Trace limited wood-program Bottled-in-Bond — craft interest is the extended stave-cure barrel experiment under the Taylor BiB banner, not indie DSP scale.
