70% rye, 20% corn, 10% malted barley. That is FEW's straight rye recipe, in which a fifth of corn rounds off the rye's spice with some sweetness. The distillery buys its corn mainly from Indiana and its malted barley from Wisconsin, and under bonded rules the whole bottling comes from one distilling season.

Why it's craft
FEW followed its bonded bourbon with this rye in 2022, made to the same 1897 rules: one distilling season, one distillery and at least four years in a bonded warehouse. The rye is mashed, fermented and distilled at the distillery's alley site in Evanston, which has made whiskey from grain since 2011. FEW became part of Heaven Hill in 2022 and still distills on site.
