Tasting notes
- nose
- Peach, apricot and caramel with light cinnamon, vanilla and a soft fresh-pastry note
- palate
- Toffee, hazelnut and pastry crust lead, with orange peel, apricot, vanilla bean and a honeyed, round body; a touch of white pepper and cinnamon dust sits at the edge
- finish

70% Kentucky-grown corn, 21% wheat, 9% malted barley. Wheat takes the place of the rye in Green River's house bourbon, which removes the rye spice and leaves the pastry, toffee and apricot notes the distillery describes.

- New charred American oak

Why it's craft
Most bourbon gets its flavoring grain from rye; Green River's second bourbon swaps in wheat over the same 70% Kentucky corn base as its high-rye bourbon. The whiskey is made and aged at the Owensboro distillery, which was licensed in 1885 as the tenth in Kentucky. It won gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Bardstown Bourbon Co. has owned Green River since 2022, and both now sit under Lofted Spirits.
