Why it's craft
Northern Bourbon is a blend: Mammoth starts with straight bourbon distilled in the Ohio Valley, which it did not make, and folds in Woolly bourbon that it distills itself in Central Lake, Michigan. The blend is finished on staves of toasted Michigan cherry wood and aged in the distillery's cooler northern rickhouse. It follows the house's Northern Rye series, which pairs older whiskey with Mammoth's own spirit in the same way. Chad Munger founded the distillery in Central Lake in 2013.
