Mash bill

70% corn, 22% malted rye, 8% malted barley. This is Milam & Greene's own recipe, distilled in Kentucky and brought to Blanco as unaged new-make spirit rather than as finished bourbon. Both the rye and the barley in it are malted.

Why it's craft

Bluebonnet was aged entirely in Texas: Milam & Greene brought its Kentucky-distilled spirit to Blanco unaged, filled four barrels and left them on the north side of Rickhouse 1 for five years and seven months, through drought and historic winter freezes. Several of the house's bourbons age in Kentucky before finishing in Texas; this one never did. The 2026 release opens the Wildlife Collection's run of Hill Country plants, and its proceeds benefit the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.
