Milam & Greene grew out of whiskey plans in Blanco, Texas that came together under co-founder Heather Greene with master distiller Marlene Holmes. The house distills on a copper pot still in the Hill Country and also contracts classic Kentucky column-still bourbon. It then moves select barrels to Texas for more aging, a process it calls Texification. Its range runs from everyday whiskeys to rare single barrels. In January 2026 Greene stepped back from day-to-day leadership to focus on whiskey-making, and Denis Johnston became interim CEO.
