Why it's craft
Each release of this single malt is distilled from Montana barley that the distillery mills and ferments itself, then vatted from new charred oak and used casks, including ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry, into a numbered limited edition. Montgomery Distillery opened in downtown Missoula in September 2012 and is locally owned. The family farm in Heath, in central Montana, grows the wheat and rye for the house's other spirits.
