“A rye that keeps a large share of corn in the recipe, so clove and mint sit on a sweeter base.”

64% rye, 30% corn, 6% malted barley. It is the Nelson Brothers bourbon recipe with the corn and rye shares swapped. Many ryes run 90% rye grain or more; Green Brier kept 30% corn to bring sweetness under the spice. The whiskey was distilled at Bardstown Bourbon Company in Kentucky in 2016.

Why it's craft
This is Green Brier's first rye, distilled at Bardstown Bourbon Company in 2016 and bottled in Nashville rather than made on its own stills. Its recipe flips the house bourbon's grains, which gives a rye with more corn sweetness than most. Charles Nelson's original Green Brier distillery in Robertson County was among the region's largest whiskey producers before prohibition closed it in 1909; the revived company has been wholly owned by Constellation Brands since 2024.
