Why it's craft
Amburana is a Brazilian wood usually used to age cachaça, and Rabbit Hole finished this twelve-year-old bourbon in new amburana barrels for floral, aromatic notes a standard bourbon barrel does not give. The bourbon itself was distilled before the company's Louisville distillery opened in 2018 and came from founder Kaveh Zamanian's private barrel collection, so this is a selected and finished whiskey rather than a house distillate. Zamanian left a career as a clinical psychologist to found Rabbit Hole, and Pernod Ricard has held a majority stake since 2019.
