Why it's craft
The label calls .44 the original Texas rye, and Ranger Creek ages it in barrels that first held its own .36 bourbon. Homebrewers TJ Miller, Dennis Rylander and Mark McDavid opened Ranger Creek in San Antonio as the first combined brewery and distillery in Texas, and it mills, mashes, ferments, distills, ages and bottles its whiskey on site.
