Ranger Creek was established in 2010 in San Antonio as a combined brewery and distillery. It takes Texas corn from grain to glass, first under co-founder TJ Miller, now head distiller emeritus, and today under head distiller Josh Gardner. The .36 Texas Bourbon, named for the .36 Navy Colt of Texas frontier lore, is the house standard. It is milled, sour-mashed, double-distilled and aged on site, so Texas heat is part of the recipe.
