Tasting notes
- nose
- Dark fruit and honey with brown sugar, clove, cinnamon and a cola-like spice
- palate
- Dense dark chocolate and black cherry meet freshly cracked black pepper, then caramel and honey, with pine, black tea, ginger and a touch of lemon peel as it opens
- finish
- Long and warm, with leathery oak tannins, cinnamon and ginger holding on, then crème brûlée and a light strawberry note before the tannins dry it out
Mash bill

A high-rye recipe of rye and malted barley, and a low-rye recipe of rye, corn and malted barley; the percentages are not published. The two straight rye whiskeys are aged separately and then combined. The low-rye whiskey uses non-GMO corn grown on Sagamore Farm.
- Cask
- New charred American white oak, 53-gallon
Why it's craft
Earlier Cask Strength batches used rye distilled in Indiana; the 2025 batch is 7-year-old whiskey that Sagamore mashed, triple-distilled and aged at its own Baltimore distillery. The distillers choose and combine barrels of the high-rye and low-rye whiskeys, add only a small amount of the farm's spring water and bottle each batch by hand. The distillery was founded in 2013 and has been majority-owned by Disaronno Group since 2023.
