Why it's craft
Double Oak puts straight rye through a second aging of 18 months in toasted wave-stave barrels, whose corrugated staves expose more toasted wood to the whiskey than a standard barrel. Not all of it is Sagamore's own distillate: it combines rye distilled in Indiana with rye Sagamore distilled in Baltimore, and the label does not carry the '100% Maryland Made' line found on its other core ryes. Sagamore, founded in 2013 and majority-owned by Disaronno Group since 2023, does the finishing, proofing and hand bottling itself.
