- Malted barley100%
100% malted barley. Stranahan's distills it in small batches from barley and Rocky Mountain water, and ages it in new charred American oak rather than the used casks most single malt sees. Twelve years in that fresh, heavily charred wood at Denver's altitude gives an oak-forward malt before the port finish adds fruit.

Why it's craft
Mountain Angel 12 is the oldest whiskey in Stranahan's regular range, and its name comes from the evaporation: at Denver's altitude, in new charred oak, many of the barrels chosen for it lost more than 80% of their whiskey over twelve years. What stays behind is concentrated and oak-heavy, and the port cask finish adds dark fruit on top. The barley is distilled and aged at the company's own Denver distillery.
