“WhistlePig's farm-grown, farm-distilled rye, married to six-year-old Canadian straight rye and bottled in the barn.”
Tasting notes
- nose
- charred brown sugar, cinnamon and clove over oak, with vanilla, maraschino cherry, roasted chestnut and orange peel
- palate
- toffee, vanilla and ginger build into oak and black pepper, with a soft crème brûlée sweetness and a hint of rose petal
- finish
- medium-long; cinnamon and oak hold first, then black pepper lingers as the sweetness drains away, leaving a dry, spicy edge
Mash bill
Full grain split not published.
Rye; WhistlePig does not publish the mash bills of the three straight ryes in this bottle. The Vermont whiskey is made from rye harvested on WhistlePig's own farm in Shoreham and cut with water from the farm's well. In the current Farmhouse Batch that farm rye makes up just over half the bottle, and the rest is six-year-old Canadian straight rye.

Why it's craft
FarmStock was the first WhistlePig whiskey built mainly on rye distilled at its own farm, first released in 2017: the rye is harvested in Shoreham, distilled in a converted dairy barn, cut with well water and aged partly in barrels of Vermont oak, an idea the label calls Triple Terroir. In the current Farmhouse Batch just over half the whiskey is that Vermont farm rye at four and six years old. The rest is six-year-old Canadian straight rye that WhistlePig buys in.
