Raj Bhakta bought a farm in Shoreham, Vermont, in 2007, and the WhistlePig brand launched in 2010. It built its name on well-aged American rye, with rye farmed in Shoreham. It distills on two 750-gallon copper pot stills on the farm; the first, built by Vendome, dates from 2015. The Boss Hog series is single-barrel and barrel-strength, with a different cask finish each release, and Old World marries 12-year rye finished in Madeira, Sauternes and Port casks. Bhakta sold out to investors in 2019, and Moët Hennessy took a minority stake in 2020.
