Why it's craft
PiggyBack was the last whiskey worked on by Dave Pickerell, WhistlePig's original master distiller, who created it with Pete Lynch; it was released in 2019 as the brand's first all-rye bottling. The label says pot distilled and states a six-year age. Part of the whiskey comes off WhistlePig's own stills in Vermont and part is bought from Canada, and WhistlePig itself began in 2007 when it bought an old dairy farm in Shoreham to grow rye.
