Why it's craft
Wigle takes a four-year Pennsylvania straight rye of its own making and finishes it in casks that held Pedro Ximénez, the sweetest style of sherry. The distillery mills local grain, ferments it and distills it on a copper pot still in Pittsburgh's Strip District, the first distillery to open in the city after Prohibition. It has been owned since 2022 by Pittsburgh Spirits, a family-owned Pittsburgh company.
