- ripe cherry and blackberry with clove and cinnamon, then cedar shavings, a cool menthol edge and a little fruit leather
- palate
- full and rich; caramel and honey first, candied citrus peel and maraschino cherry, then a hot cinnamon and cayenne bite with toasted almond and oak tannin
- finish
- long; rye spice and toasted nut hold on with a damp, earthy note, fading clean into dry oak

Why it's craft
This is an all-rye whiskey with its age on the label, made from grain grown on a single Central Washington farm. Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile founded Woodinville in 2010; they mash and distill west of the Cascades and send the spirit back east to age near the farm, where Central Washington's extreme temperature swings work it in and out of the oak. Moët Hennessy has owned the company since 2017.
