2XO, short for Two Times Oak, is a Kentucky straight bourbon brand created by blender Dixon Dedman and brought to market with Prestige Beverage Group of Louisville. Dedman does not distill; he selects and blends bourbon from distillery partners and gives every expression additional oak exposure, either by moving finished bourbon into a second new charred barrel or, in the everyday Oak Series, by putting chains of charred oak into the barrels. The extra wood is meant to build sweetness against the rye spice in each mash bill. The range runs from the Gem of Kentucky double-barreled single barrel to the Oak Series bottles such as American Oak and French Oak.
