Herman Mihalich founded Dad's Hat (Mountain Laurel Spirits) in Bristol to resurrect classic Pennsylvania rye after working the recipe with Michigan State’s Artisan Distilling Program. Local rye, a Christian Carl hybrid still, and a fedora-inspired brand identity anchor a Monongahela-style revival.
Visit
Distillery tours run most Saturdays by appointment and cost about $10, including a tasting; book through the website form. The Mill Street Tasting Room is near the Bristol waterfront, and visitors must be 21 or older.
