Wilderness Trail started in Danville, Kentucky in 2012 with a sweet-mash, science-forward approach and high-rye Bottled-in-Bond small batches. Campari Group bought 70% in 2022, and the founders hold the rest. The whiskey still rests on single-fermenter Bottled-in-Bond discipline, cooper-selected oak and Kentucky craft trail hospitality.
