Founded in 2010 by Colin Spoelman and David Haskell, Kings County Distillery is New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery and the first in the city since Prohibition. It began in a tiny East Williamsburg room before moving into the historic Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where it mashes, ferments, double pot-distills, and ages on site. The house leans Scotch-inspired grain choices (notably English Golden Promise malt) into American whiskey styles, never sources whiskey, and pairs a Gatehouse tasting room with Navy Yard tours.
