Westward Whiskey began at House Spirits in Portland, Oregon, and pioneered a brewer's approach to American single malt. It uses locally malted two-row barley and ale yeast, distills twice in pot stills, and ages the spirit in new American oak that is heavily toasted and lightly charred. Oregon's hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters shape the maturation. Whisky Advocate named it a Top 5 whiskey in the world in 2022. The Original is the grain-to-glass flagship.
