Kenny Coleman and Ryan Cecil started Pursuit Spirits in Louisville after years of hosting the Bourbon Pursuit podcast, which they began in 2018. The house does not run stills of its own. It selects barrels from partner distilleries in Kentucky, Tennessee, New York and Maryland and blends them as Pursuit United, printing every mash bill on the label, with a Pursuit Series of single barrels beside it. Blending, bottling and warehousing happen on Mellwood Avenue, which took its name from the Mellwood Distillery founded there in 1865, and Pursuit has revived that brand in a legacy collection. The Whiskey Row tasting room opened in August 2025, and the house is a stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Meat Church BBQ bought a minority stake in December 2025.
