Irish immigrant Dr. George G. Moore founded Virginia Distillery Co. in Lovingston to prove American single malt could stand with the world’s best. Double-distilled in Scottish copper pots from 100% malted barley and matured in non-climate-controlled cask houses through Virginia’s hot-cold swings, the house is defined by its Courage & Conviction cask trinity — bourbon, sherry, and Jim Swan–inspired cuvée wine casks.
